Life has been quite the rollercoaster over here, as it usually is. Back to school has been an absolute dream for both boys this year (aside from this wee “fall break” as I’m calling it), and we are love love loving this fall weather with lots of bubble parties on our back deck!

Unfortunately, at an appointment in late June, we found out that Frankie would require double hip surgery this winter (yes, the waitlist is over 6 months long, even with a partially dislocated hip!)

Knowing that the best (only?) option to get Frankie home from surgery was a wheelchair accessible van, I finally put down a deposit on one, knowing it would take months to be converted and arrive here in Canada. Frankie is also very committed to being as tall as Connor McDavid when he grows up, and is well on his way (he’s already 4’3” at 8 years old!) so I knew the time was coming that me transferring him in & out of his wheelchair to his carseat was likely going to come to a sudden end very soon.

It’s incredibly hard for me to ask for help, but the truth is, the conversion alone cost $30K on top of the cost of the van, and as Frankie continues to grow, I’m needing more & more equipment to support him, such as a medical bed, and a full ceiling track and lift system in his bedroom and bathroom. The bills keep coming, and though I’ve been lucky to receive some funding and have a supportive co-parent, it hasn’t quite been enough so I am humbly asking for your support.
